JOSHUA TURNS 5!

Joshua was so excited that he was 'officially' 5!
He is helping me with his cake. I still can't believe he is 5.

This is so cute. Look at those dogs allowing Joshua to lay on top of them.

The cake Joshua helped me make.
Those teepees took forever to decorate.
We had a cowboy and Indians theme party.
Joshua's friends!

His friends watching him open the gifts they brought.

Look at that smile!! This is his 2nd cake.
Joshua had a friends party earlier in the day.
Later, that evening he had the grandparents
over for dinner and some more cake!

The kids played 'pin the badge on the sheriff'.

We had a lot of fun that day. I hope Joshua has great memories turning 5. I love you, my son. May God continue to bless you.

A WOMAN'S PERSPECTIVE

  • AGE 3: She looks at herself and sees a Queen
  • AGE 8: She looks at herself and sees Cinderella
  • AGE 15: She looks at herself and sees an Ugly Sister (Mum I can't go to school looking like this!)
  • AGE 20: She looks at herself and sees "too fat/too thin, too short/ too tall, too straight/too curly" – but decides she's going out anyway
  • AGE 30: She looks at herself and sees "too fat/too thin, too short/ too tall, too straight/too curly" – but decides she doesn't have time to fix it, so she's going out anyway.
  • AGE 40: She looks at herself and sees "clean" and goes out anyway.
  • AGE 50: She looks at herself and sees "I am" and goes wherever she wants to go
  • AGE 60: She looks at herself and reminds herself of all the people who can't eve see themselves in the mirror anymore. Goes out and conquers the world.
  • AGE 70: She looks at herself and sees wisdom, laughter and ability, goes out and enjoys life. (I hope I see wisdom way before I turn 70!)
  • AGE 80: Doesn't bother to look. Just pus on a purple hat and goes out to have fun with the world.

I found this article in a Kane County Woman Newspaper in 2004. I don't even know if this paper still exists. I do know that this article is funny and I kept it all this year. I have thrown it away since my husband seems to think that I am a pack rat (what would give him that idea??).

I have been purging for some time and apparently I still have more to purge. I have not been able to stop donating to Goodwill. I do know one thing; it isn't just my stuff getting donated!!

FOCA

Do you know what FOCA means or at least what is stands for??? It stands for 'Freedom of Choice Act'. Do you know what it means and how it affects us? How it affects me as a Christian? This Act saddens me. Go hear and read it for yourself (click here). I know we all have different beliefs and if you are Pro-Life you want to know more. If you are not you might want to know how this Act will affect you as a parent of a child who chooses abortion. This Act will affect us all as parents. I urge you to sign the petition and stand up for your right as a US citizen.
This is a sensitive subject but not too sensitive that we should turn a blind-eye to what is happening to God's children. Also, check out this website to read another woman's view. Let us ban together and pray for our Country.

God Bless.

ALL HALLOW'S EVE

SCARY PUMPKINS....Only 2 pumpkins?? Where are all of the pumpkins?
We must do better next year!

Where are kids?? I know there were more than 1 child at my house!

Our 2 winners!! Martha and Lydia, I hope you are sharing your candies! They had to guess how many pieces of candy were in the jar. The amount (or close to it) was 385 pieces of candy!!

I hope Andy isn't bothering these 2 lovely ladies...

3 generations; Opa, Karl and Joshua.

Bob Marley (aka: Christian)

Rachel working hard on cleaning out the guts of her pumpkin.

Anna made this cake all by herself. She read the instructions and mixed the batter.
She did let me decorate :)

Anna and Audrey as Laura Ingalls; Joshua as 'Bow Hunter Boy' and Lydia dressed as a detective. We also had 2 cheerleaders, one cowgirl and Bob Marley.

We had a great evening. I took the kids on a ghost walk in our backyard where they had to figure out clues or put their hands into box and guess what it is. It was fun. We were blessed with a beautiful warm night. Can you believe 'Indian Summer' is over. It is suppose to snow this weekend!!!!
