vOMITing • sleeping • eating • nausea • restless

Let me start off by saying, "I WANT TO OMIT 'VOMITING' IN MY PREGNANCY!" It is enough to feel hungry and nausous at the SAME TIME; yucky feelings. It has only been a week of all this 'fun' stuff rolled into one body or should I say one tiney, cute, little baby :>)

Some of you may say that I asked for this. I asked for the blessing NOT the sickness. I know it all goes together so.....technically I am not complaining. Off the record....I am complaining. My poor stomach is in sooooo much pain. My head hurts. I am hungry. I can't look at food. It tastes better the first time around NOT the second time....aargh. I really needed to get that off my chest.

Tomorrow begins week number 8....what can I say. After some thought, I think this sickness is a reminder of the gift that the Lord has blessed us with. It is a reminder that LIFE isn't easy. LIFE begins at conception and ends when the Lord calls us. The miracle of LIFE is hard. Preparing for this little baby is a lifetime commitment to this baby and to our Father. I look at my 2 oldest and they have been a blessing the day I have set my eyes on them. I can't take my eyes of them. I love how the Lord works in each of us. To see how he brings family and friends closer. Or how He touches our Life individually when we don't even realize it.

I enjoy preparing for this little baby with new eyes, with the guidance of our Father. Thank you Lord for this miracle, for this sickness that comes with a developing child, with love from our hearts. Amen.

Morning sickness, flu, dry-heaves....

Week 7 arrived with a BANG! Last week we all had the stomach flu (except for Karl) and thankfully it left has quickly has it arrived.

Now, in my 7th week; I am having trouble brushing my teeth, eating, resting and lots of nausea! I don't know which is better....not to eat too much, eat small meals often, or just snack. I found I love trail mix!!! Found out that I don't like my favorite spinach salad anymore :(

The dry-heaves...what can I say about the dry-heaves, other than it...hurts. I don't actually vomit (yet), sometimes I wish I could. Hopefully, this won't last long. With Anna and Joshua, I was sick with them both. With Anna I really did vomit, often. Joshua....well, I think I dry-heaved with him for 6 months (it felt longer). Lets see what baby number 3 does to me...

Morning sickness for me is all day! It comes and goes throughout the day. I mostly feel the worst at the end of the day. I believe I was like that with Anna. Maybe it's a girl???? Hmmmmmmm...

Yesterday, the family and Oma all went to my 1st ultrasound. I was a little worried because it is too early for an ultrasound. Can they see this tiny baby?? Is everything OK? What are they looking for? All these questions were running through my mind as I waited for this appointment to arrive.

It was fun to have the gang with me. I also had to drink a ton of water to be ready. That was hard for me to hold that much water. As I was laying on the table the nurse put the wand on my belly and all I can think about is....when can I go to the bathroom? It was very uncomfortable. Then you saw it, a black blob on the screen. The baby sac! Then you saw something very tiny. Is that the baby? Yes, it is and you can see the heart beating! It was the coolest thing ever. I am so glad that I am able to share this whole experience with the kids. They were so excited. We also all heard the heart beating. God is good.

Karl asked the one question that has been bothering him, "how many babies do you see?" The nurse said, "there is one baby". WHEW!

I have to brag

Yesterday was a big day for us. My blood count doubled and Joshua read his first book!!! Something I wasn't even ready for. I know was prepping him and teaching his letters but I didn't expect him to pick up his first Phonetic Storybook Reader 1. We weren't suppose to get to the book for another 2 weeks. He read 22 pages in one sitting. We are very proud of him. He has been very diligent in his studies.

We are using the Sing, Spell, Read & Write 1st grade program. I thought it would take us a few years to go through but I think he will finish right on time next year. We decided to start kindergarten early because he was showing signs of readiness. I truly wasn't sure if he was ready but he has proved himself. I told him if he can read by summer, then he can go into first grade this fall. I can see he is like his mom. When we put our minds to accomplish a goal; we go after it!

Good news!! I spoke with the nurse just a little while ago and my blood counts are right where they should be!! Thank you Lord! Thank you all for your prayers and please continue to pray through my journey. My 'quant' count on Monday was 31oo and today it is...drum roll please....6200! It doubled. I believe this is what it is suppose to do. The nurse said everything looks great. My first actual doctor visit is on February 25th. I will keep you posted as this cute little baby continues to grow!

I feel like I have been holding my breath for 2 days and now I can breath.

Monday a little crazy...

Monday was a little crazy. It started out normal. Anna goes to co-op at 9 am for science. Well, around 10 am I went potty and I saw blood. I was scared. The moms quickly offered to watch the kids while I did what I needed to do. Which was call the doctor ASAP! They said it was too early to tell why I was bleeding. I do know that being O negative causes some problems. I did have these problems with Anna. With all that said...I went in for some blood work and I need to go back on Wednesday for more blood work so that they can compare numbers. We want the numbers to go up!! I will continue to post my ups and downs of this wonderful blessings. According to the doctors calendar I am 5 weeks and 3 days prego. By the numbers they told me on Monday shows that I am 6 weeks and 3 days prego. I will confirm as soon as I know how big this little baby is!! His/her microscopic heart is beating! What a blessing to share this with my husband and children. God is good.
