HEARTBEAT

Yesterday, the family and Oma all went to my 1st ultrasound. I was a little worried because it is too early for an ultrasound. Can they see this tiny baby?? Is everything OK? What are they looking for? All these questions were running through my mind as I waited for this appointment to arrive.

It was fun to have the gang with me. I also had to drink a ton of water to be ready. That was hard for me to hold that much water. As I was laying on the table the nurse put the wand on my belly and all I can think about is....when can I go to the bathroom? It was very uncomfortable. Then you saw it, a black blob on the screen. The baby sac! Then you saw something very tiny. Is that the baby? Yes, it is and you can see the heart beating! It was the coolest thing ever. I am so glad that I am able to share this whole experience with the kids. They were so excited. We also all heard the heart beating. God is good.

Karl asked the one question that has been bothering him, "how many babies do you see?" The nurse said, "there is one baby". WHEW!

Isn't it amazing hearing the heartbeat for the first time. I'm so excited for you. Also, was Karl worried you were going to have 8 or something? :)
